Flats or Heels, Slingbacks Done Two Ways

The slingback silhouette has long been a favourite for its clever balance of security and openness, and our collection celebrates both ends of that spectrum. Slingback flats offer a low, grounded profile with a slim adjustable strap at the heel, making them a versatile everyday option for the office, travel or a long day on your feet. The rounded or almond toe shapes across the flat styles keep the look softer and more relaxed, while a cushioned leather footbed helps the shoe settle in with wear. Slingback heels lift the same silhouette into more considered territory, with sculpted heel shapes and refined pointed or almond toes that suit evening events, workwear or a polished weekend look. Heel heights across the range are graduated from a modest kitten heel through to a taller stiletto, so it is easy to find a height that matches your day rather than working against it. Across both, Mollini favours quality leather uppers and a palette leaning into nude and neutral tones, so each pair reads as on-trend and original rather than following the crowd. Textural details such as soft pebbled grain, smooth calf leather or a subtle sheen finish add depth to the neutral palette without straying into anything too bold for everyday dressing. However you like to wear yours, the strap at the back keeps everything comfortably in place through the day without sacrificing shape.

Styling Your Slingback Shoes

Slingback shoes are one of the most adaptable pieces in a considered shoe wardrobe, moving effortlessly between tailored and casual dressing. Pair slingback flats with wide-leg trousers or a midi skirt for an off-duty look that still feels put together. Let slingback heels do the heavy lifting with a suit or a slip dress for evening, or dress them down with denim and a blazer for a work function that runs into after-hours drinks. A neutral leather pair works especially well as a travel shoe, pairing with most of what is already packed while still looking considered rather than purely practical. If you are building out your heel edit further, our Women's Block Heels bring a similarly grounded stability for all-day events, while our Women's Wedge Heels offer another alternative for outdoor occasions and warmer months. Layering these silhouettes together, alongside your slingback flats and heels, gives you a considered rotation that covers nearly every dress code, from the office through to weddings and weekend events, all while staying true to Mollini's fashion-forward, Melbourne-designed identity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between slingback flats and slingback heels?

A: Slingback flats sit low to the ground with a flat sole, while slingback heels raise the foot on a heel shape such as a block or stiletto. Both styles share the same open-back strap design, so the choice comes down to the height and occasion you are dressing for.

Q: Are Mollini slingback shoes made from leather?

A: Leather is a common material across our slingback collection, chosen for its durability and the way it moulds to the foot over time. Some styles are finished in other premium materials, so check each product page for exact details.

Q: Can slingback shoes be worn for both casual and formal occasions?

A: Yes. Slingback flats suit everyday and casual dressing, while slingback heels are well suited to workwear and evening occasions, making the silhouette one of the more versatile choices in a considered shoe wardrobe.

Q: What colours are available in the slingback collection?

A: Our slingback shoes come in a range of colours and finishes, with nude and neutral tones a recurring feature alongside classic black and seasonal shades, reflecting Mollini's on-trend and original approach to design.
